The company was founded in 2009, and the project is approved by the Board of Investments of Sri Lanka. Woolim Lanka Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Thusitha Wijayasena, also oversees other organizations within the group, including the Kandy City Centre.

Woolim Lanka Pvt Limited was incorporated (Registration number 4008/22/07/2009) under the BOI laws of Sri Lanka act 17 (the said application under Section 17 of the said Law No. 4 of 1978 and Regulation No. 1 of 2006 as published in the Gazette (Extraordinary) No. 1447115 dated 31st May, 2006)
The Chairman/Managing Director of Woolim Lanka Pvt Limited Mr. Thusitha Wijayasena is also the Chairman / Managing Director of Property Finance & Investments Kandy Pvt Limited, Kandy City Centre project located in Dalada Veediya, Kandy. KCC is a BOI approved flagship project and subsequently, the property was gazetted as a special licensed zone under section 22A. Among many premium brands housed in the Kandy City Centre there are 14 leading banks, a fully equipped supermarket, more than 100 various shops, a variety of restaurants, an entertainment zone, a state-of the-art food loft, upcoming exclusive level specially designed to cater to tourists as well as an exhibition hall with more than 45,000 square feet. KCC on average has over 100,000 footfall per day.
KCC Multiplex Cinema section and the function hall are the latest additions to KCC with its expansion. The international class KCC Multiplex comprises of 3 Cinemas, approximately 355 seats in total, and capable of running all digital motion pictures in high definition. All cinemas are 3D capable and accompanied with immersive Dolby DTS 7.1 and Dolby Atmos sound systems. The Function Hall is capable of handling events and it has more than 200 seating capacity. Founder/Chairman and Managing Director
The factory is situated at Karametiya, Badulla and it is 1 Km away from the main road of Mahiyangana - Badulla. The company has a well-developed access road to the factory from the main road and it has all other facilities such as electricity, water, telephone, and waste disposal. The land extent of the factory is fifteen acres.
The factory is mainly comprising of raw quartz receiving bay, crushing area, laboratory (Chemical / Physical), quality inspection area, packing area, warehouse and dispatch area.
We follow stringent quality controls in the production process, and we possess a modern laboratory equipped with sophisticated equipment. A high-caliber team of technicians including a qualified Geoscientist specially trained in quality inspection has been employed to check the product quality in all the stages.
